Elizabeth Gomez – Patino is an assignment editor and producer at CBS 4 in the Rio Grande Valley. Originally from Venezuela, Elizabeth graduated in Spring 2017 with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish. After working as an editor for EGMN, she interned for KRTK as an assignment editor in Houston where she learned how to develop local stories.
After graduation, she was determined to apply for a smaller market to obtain the experience she needed to become a producer and to gain a leadership role. After applying for KGBT CBS 4 in the Rio Grande Valley and obtaining the position as assignment manager, she relocated with her husband. Elizabeth now helps produce the weekend shows and is learning how to manage a staff and to develop good stories in a border town in Texas.
